Costa Rica is known for consistent, year-round sportfishing, both inshore and offshore.
The Central Pacific gives anglers quick access to productive offshore currents and rocky inshore structure, and is home to the annual Offshore World Championship. Our captains specialize in fly, conventional and live-bait fishing, and every trip can be customized to your group and schedule.
Trips are arranged by our team at CostaRicaFishingExperts.com, a Jacó-based charter company with deep local captain and crew relationships. Billfish and roosterfish are released following International Game Fish Association (IGFA) catch-and-release practices.
Choose offshore, inshore or both
Half-day and full-day trips are available. Add an inshore day to an offshore package, or book an inshore package for up to four anglers.
Offshore Fishing
From Los Sueños, trolling usually begins about 20 miles out at the edge of the Mid America Trench, where depths drop past 600 feet. Nutrient-rich currents there draw billfish and other pelagics. Expect regular sightings of sea turtles, leaping devil rays, spinner dolphins and, at times, humpback whales.
